Making the Connection: Water and Land in Alberta

Making the Connection: Water and Land in Alberta comprehensively details the special role of watershed features, such as forests, riparian areas, and wetlands, in an effort to further that understanding. With a better awareness of the value of watersheds, decision makers will understand how land use impacts water quality and quantity. In Alberta, this is especially important as roads, seismic lines, agricultural fields, industrial plants, and urban development criss-cross and sprawl across the provincial landscape. While these activities provide considerable wealth to Albertans, these land uses collectively threaten watersheds.

Water Matters is solely responsible for the opinions and any errors contained in the document. Making the Connection was made possible with the generous support of the Alberta Real Estate Association, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, and the Alberta Conservation Association.
