Alberta's Water for Life strategy indicates that "shared governance" will act as a primary mechanism to implement the strategy. Shared governance implies shared decision making among government, industry, and the public. While this more inclusive decision making is a good solution to governing a resource that we all share, the details of implementing shared governance are more challenging than anticipated.
University
of Calgary
professors, Mary-Ellen Tyler and Mike Quinn, and our very own Danielle Droitsch
shared their thoughts about shared governance in the watershed context through
a series of Webinars:
Webinar: Shared Governance I — A Regional (watershed) Perspective
Webinar: Shared Governance II — Integrating Shared Governance into Water for Life
Water Matters would like to thank the board of the Mountain Parks Watershed Association for approving the use of these presentations on our website.
